Date: 2012-01-09 06:53 am (UTC)I also wish I'd done a better job at playing Marla, so I didn't end her so soon.
So, tell me about Aather. (To be honest, the cast size looked... daunting...)

Date: 2012-01-09 07:03 am (UTC)It's actually sort of interesting to see how different the community dynamic is, even knowing that Aather functions differently from Sabra despite their similar set-up. I would say the tone of Aather is overall a lot lighter, so it's kind of nice to get to play the amnesia sans murdercave -- though Aather has its fair share of trauma games too.
I agree that the cast size is sort of daunting and Aather is really fast-paced -- mingle posts that get close to or over 1000 comments are the norm. That's all I can think up to say, let me know if you want more info about something. o/
And as for a question... Tell me about Entanglement? :?

Date: 2012-01-09 07:27 am (UTC)Okay, so Entanglement is set on a space station nicknamed the Junkstation basically because it's mostly made of derelict spaceships (seriously, the mods took like half a dozen franchises, plus plenty of random space debris crap to design it). The station is home to a resistance against the Fay'lia Empire, a multiverse empire of aliens out to colonize all the things and teach all you barbarians to be civilized. Some of the PCs are part of the resistance, some were dragged there by Ancient Alien Technology, some are trying to capitalize on things*, some are double agents and some are just along to get laid. NPCs currently lead the station, but the option is open for PCs to get elected to their positions. (The resistance is also pretty factionalized: of my characters, Lafiel tends to want military solutions, Georgia is a journalist who wants to start Radio Free Multiverse and Ai believes in the Power of Love.)
The tone is a mix between serious and Hitchiker's Guide style of humor: we've done things like defend against attacks and smooze unaligned planets... but also made and advertised (at a con) a magical girl propaganda show and stole Christmas by assassinating Santa Claus** and put Darth Vader on a roomba because we didn't have a proper body for him when the character showed up post Episode III. So, sometimes silly, but not cracky, if it makes sense.
It's a lot slower than Sabra, and a somewhat small game, and a haven for less-common SF canons, though there are a few popular things (Dragon Age, Homestruck).
I can't think of a good question...
* Actually, we might have had all our double-agents drop.
** Seriously, the Fay'lia used a Santa-like figure to assassinate troublemakers on one world, so we had to intervene.
