Well, one of his memories reinforces the idea that humans are not always the best measure of their own health, and Akin is slightly concerned that, given Sion didn't mention the whole 'constant pain' thing, that he might take shortcuts about his own health. If the pain thing does turn out to be just 'Sion didn't realize this is not normal', he'll assume he was mistaken about Sion's judgement -- or at least it's normal new blank behavior to assume how you wake up is how it should always be.
